Full Yard Transformation
One landscape project I’m especially proud to showcase was a full front-to-back yard transformation that included grading, new sod installation, interlock stone edging, a custom-built retaining wall, and a carefully planned perennial garden. It wasn’t just about the visual upgrade—it was about solving drainage issues, maximizing curb appeal, and creating a low-maintenance yet elegant space the homeowners could enjoy for years. Seeing their reaction when it was complete made all the hard work worth it. It really reflects our standard at Amigos Lawn Care—doing it right, doing it clean, and going above and beyond.
Challenging Backyard Overhaul
One of the most challenging landscaping projects we completed was a backyard overhaul on a sloped property with severe water runoff issues. The client wanted a usable outdoor living space with a patio, garden beds, and level lawn—something that seemed nearly impossible given the grade and soil conditions.
To tackle the problem, we started by bringing in a surveyor to ensure proper grading and drainage planning. We installed a French drain system and built a tiered retaining wall using armor stone to hold the slope in place. Each tier was carefully compacted and leveled to prevent shifting over time.
The weather threw us curveballs with heavy rain throughout the process, which meant reworking some of the base layers and being extra cautious with compaction and erosion control. But instead of rushing, we adjusted our schedule and made sure everything was done right.
In the end, we turned a previously unusable space into a beautiful, functional yard with proper drainage, a custom interlock patio, and lush sod that the family could finally enjoy. It was a project that tested our skills in grading, problem-solving, and patience—but the result was one of our most rewarding transformations to date.
Before-and-After Transformations
The most striking before-and-after transformations we’ve done are the ones where the property went from neglected or outdated to clean, modern, and fully functional. One great example is a yard that was completely overgrown—uneven lawn, weeds choking the garden beds, a broken fence, and zero curb appeal.
We stripped everything back to bare bones, regraded the land for better drainage, installed fresh sod, edged and mulched all the beds, shaped the trees, and added a clean interlock path to the entrance. By the time we were done, it looked like a brand-new home. Neighbours were stopping to ask who did the work.
